Pernille Feragen, Samuel Feragen, Mads Fikkan, Hanne Hammerseth og Elise Shumei Villanger - Urban Triggers - NTNU Fall 2015
The high rises we lived in the first night in Xi'an.
The view from our room.
And for the first time since we left, we met the rest of our class! And we have now been introduced to the CHinese class as well.
For the Anthroplogy fieldwork we're doing this week, we can choose between 3 sites, 3 different kind of Urban Villages. The first one is in an area called the Xixi'an-area, outside the city core, and felt kind of like a suburban area.
2 of Samuel's workmates this week, Liv and Li Gang.
And this is Pernille's and Elise's group. From the left: Elise Shumei, Meng Sa and Zhu Di.
Pernille's and Elise's group out in one of the Urban Village (the first site) we're going to study while here in Xi'an.
This village, called Hou Wei Zhai, is lying in an area that is changing quickly. It recently got a metro line connecting it to the city centre and the highways are being built as well.
In the afternoon we went to the Small Wild Goose Pagoda Park for a little rest, beautiful atmosphere, very peaceful. This was also the place where we saw a lot of other Western people :)
The Small Wild Goose Pagoda.
The second site, Nan Guan Cun. A village in the city centre, but quite new.
The third site, an urban village in the city centre, very close to the Small Wild Goose Pagoda Park called Xia Jia Village. An interesting case as well.
